Peter is a China political economy and business expert. He has been engaging with China as a senior business executive, think-tank researcher, journalist, government regulator as well as a historian.
He is a non-resident fellow of Lowy Institute for International Policy and was appointed as an advisory board member of the National Foundation of Australia-China Relations by the Australian Foreign Minister.
Previously, Peter served as group chief advisor to the former CEO of Virgin Australia as well as General Manager for strategic relations. He was on the company’s executive committee between 2016 and 2019. Prior to working in the airline industry, he was a journalist with The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Business Spectator, and The Australian. He has also worked at the Australian Treasury Department as a specialist on foreign investment and trade policy.
Peter holds an M.St from the University of Oxford.
